Respecting your privacy is important to us here at pureorigin, publisher of chocophile.com, The New World Chocolate Society, The Chocolate Co-Op, and The Chocolate Critic web sites. Personal data in the form of a valid e-mail address is required to contribute comments to our network of sites. This is done to minimize spamming. If you like, when you log in, you can ask that a cookie to be set so that you are automatically logged in the next time you visit the site. This cookie contains your login information. You also have the option of choosing to reveal that you are online to other members of the chocophile community.

During registration, you have the option to provide other information about yourself so that others may get in contact with you. This information is visible in the profile that is visible only to registered members of the site who are logged in.

If you purchase items through The Chocolate Co-Op, we collect credit card payment as well as shipping information. Some of this information (name, card, expiration date, and billing address) is communicated from the shopping cart servers to a credit card authorization company. Communication of credit card data is done only using secure (HTTPS) connections, however, order confirmation and shipping address information are communicated via e-mail. Billing and shipping information are sent separately from each other so there is no way to compromise your privacy through getting just the e-mail communication. Your personal data is securely stored on these servers to facilitate the transaction as well as for tax and other financial reporting reasons. Hardcop backups of some data are stored offsite to facility order fulfillment.

pureorigin does everything it can to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of the personal information entrusted to it. We do not sell, rent, or otherwise distribute, for a fee or for free, and personal information about members.
